The Ayuntamiento de Guardamar del Segura held its October ordinary plenary session, approving a series of important measures aimed at improving municipal services, infrastructure, and community wellbeing.
One of the primary decisions was the modification of the municipal credit by €1,350,002.73. This allocation will cover debt amortisation, enhancements to the local music school, improvements to sports facilities, and payment of overtime hours for municipal staff. Local officials emphasised that these investments reflect the council’s ongoing commitment to supporting education, culture, and public services.
The council also updated the traffic ordinance and regulations for personal mobility vehicles (PMV). The revisions aim to improve road safety and ensure harmonious coexistence among drivers, cyclists, and PMV users. In addition, the plenary approved a modification of the municipal rate for the collection, transfer, and treatment of solid urban waste (RSU). This adjustment ensures compliance with current legislation while maintaining efficient waste management services for residents.
Beyond local administrative matters, the council demonstrated its solidarity on international issues by approving a motion supporting the measures and position of the Spanish government regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This reflects the municipality’s engagement in broader social and humanitarian concerns.
Overall, the October plenary highlights Guardamar del Segura’s balanced approach, combining practical local governance with civic and international responsibility. Through these measures, the council reinforces its commitment to the wellbeing of residents, sustainable public services, and active participation in national and global matters.
