M3GAN is a horror film revolving around a sinister doll programmed to be the ultimate child's companion . After becoming the possession of an eight-year-old girl, M3GAN quickly goes rogue, embarking on a savage killing spree in her 'protection'. Launched in 2023, it quickly became a favourite amongst horror enthusiasts and even led to a sequel, M3GAN 2.0, which was released earlier this year. The original's synopsis reads: "M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll that's programmed to be a child's greatest companion and a parent's greatest ally. When Gemma becomes the unexpected caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, she decides to give the girl an M3GAN prototype, a decision that leads to unimaginable consequences." Now, the film is up for free streaming tonight (November 1), for those seeking the perfect eerie viewing this Halloween weekend. M3GAN will be airing on Film 4 at 9pm, reports the Mirror . Directed by Gerard Johnstone, the film earned an impressive rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes as acclaim continues to roll in. One fan penned: "M3GAN is really inspiring and it's a really awesome movie! ! I really like it! ! M3GAN is a bad a** and a cool robot everyone loves!" Another said: "Perfect balance of terrifying horror and bittersweet redemption, along with its subtle notes of humor. One of the best horror movies I have ever seen!" A third simply penned: "A new era of horror with a killer spicy comedy", as another commented: "Pretty good horror movie about Ai dolls, its honestly a classic to me already." One person wrote: "M3GAN is different from every horror movie I've ever seen. To call it horror would be a little wrong, because it is much more Sci-Fi. It of course does have horror elements and moments, that normally come in the form of slasher films. "Despite being PG-13, the film is quite grisly for it's rating. There are scenes of ears being ripped off, someone being killed with pesticides from a power washer, but it certainly makes the movie all the more memorable. "In my opinion, M3GAN is an absolutely fantastic film, but like most films, it isn't for everyone. You'll either be somewhat entertained, or massively entertained. Great movie!" Viewers will recall that at the conclusion of the original film, M3GAN suffered a violent demise at the hands of her maker following a murderous rampage. Taking place two years following these incidents, M3GAN 2.0 witnessed the theft of the technology behind the sinister doll, with M3GAN being brought back to life to assist in rescuing mankind. M3GAN is streaming tonight at 9pm on Film4.
