Greenville County Schools hit a record-high graduation rate of 90.6% for the 2024-2025 school year, outpacing the state average. The South Carolina Department of Education Report Card, released on Nov. 3, showed the nearly two percent increase ― up from 88.7% in 2023-2024 school year. The district also had 5,335 out of 5,887 students graduate in the 2024-2025 school year. Eleven of the district's 15 high schools scored higher than the 86.7% state average which also was up from 85.4% the previous year. Additionally, 85% of the 2024-25 Greenville County's graduation cohort met the markers for college or career readiness. “The record-setting graduation rate and significant gains in college- and career-readiness reflect the continued success of our Graduation Plus initiative,” GCS Superintendent Dr. Burke Royster said. “From early learning through high school, our students, staff, families, and community partners are working together to ensure that every student graduates prepared for the next step - whether that’s college, career, or military service. These results affirm that our collective commitment to academic excellence and real-world readiness is making a lasting difference for students across Greenville County Schools.” Highest and lowest scores Among the district high schools, Mauldin, Woodmont, Eastside and Riverside recorded the highest graduation rates in the county. Carolina, Berea, Southside, Traveler's Rest and Wade Hampton had the lowest graduation rates with only Wade Hampton scoring above the state average.
