Here are the nominees for this week’s News & Record High School Football Player of the Week.

Brayden Jeffries, Dudley: The senior quarterback rushed eight times for 88 yards and three touchdowns, with dynamic scores of 47, 17 and nine yards, while also completing 4 of 8 passes for 94 yards and a 35-yard touchdown and committed no turnovers as the Panthers reached 4-3 overall, 3-0 to lead the Metro 6A/7A Conference and defeated archrival Smith for the 15th straight time.
Amare Akers, Northern Guilford: The 5-foot-8, 185-pound senior had 19 carries for a season-high 192 yards and a touchdown to help the Nighthawks defeat previously undefeated Asheboro 31-27, remain undefeated in TAAC Six 5A/6A Conference play and improve to 5-1 overall.
Kendre Harrison, Reidsville: The Oregon recruit had seven catches for a season-high 129 yards and a season-high three touchdowns as the Rams defeated Rockingham County 42-0 to improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in Mid-State 3A/4A/5A Conference play.
Dionte Neal, Reidsville: Per usual, Neal performed well in multiple ways. The recent Shrine Bowl selection had four catches for 113 yards, three carries for 28 yards and a touchdown and was 4 of 6 passing for 83 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams defeated Rockingham County 42-0 to improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in Mid-State 3A/4A/5A Conference play.
Amario Armstrong, Ragsdale: The 5-foot-9, 175-pound athlete was 1 of 1 passing for 22 yards, had four carries for 24 yards and a touchdown and on defense had a team-high 12 tackles, three for loss in the overtime loss to Page.
Hertsel Smith, Ragsdale: The 6-foot-1, 180-pound senior cornerback and wide receiver had one reception for a 32-yard touchdown, five tackles and an interception as the Tigers nearly pulled off an upset over Page in Metro 6A/7A play.
Darius Chukwuemeka, Smith: The multi-pronged playmaker had 11 carries for 82 yards and touchdowns of 17 and 10 yards, completed a reverse pass for 56 yards and had two receptions for 124 yards, with 106 of those receiving yards coming after taking laterals on hook-and-lateral trick plays in Smith’s 34-23 loss to archrival Dudley.
Travis Motley, Southeast Guilford: The 5-foot-6, 142-pound scat back had 28 carries, more than double his previous season high, for a season-high 169 yards in helping the Falcons to a 13-10 TAAC Six 5A/6A Conference road win over Eastern Guilford with first-string back Caleb Jackson exiting the game early in the third quarter with an injury.
