ATHENS – An Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered Digital Doctor Assistant is now available for doctors as part of the National Electronic Health Record (EHR), authorities said, letting them access patient data, coordinate care and support medical decision-making. It is being implemented through cooperation between the Health and Digital Governance Ministries under the EDIKA agency. A MyHealthDoc system will let doctors retrieve patient information, display personalized results and determine medications administered in the past three months or a patient’s summary medical history. The system also supports verbal interaction and offers suggested questions. Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis said the feature “signals a new era for the National Health System,” providing doctors “immediate access to patient history, reducing waiting times and supporting diagnosis and treatment.” He added that a Citizen Digital Assistant for Health will be introduced in about a month, allowing citizens secure access to their health data and services. Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou said the initiative aims to “effectively support doctors, reduce bureaucracy and enhance the quality of care provided,” calling it “another important step in the overall digital reform of health.
