Grasso’s Garage: 2025 GMC Canyon is the King of Mid-Size Trucks

The days of pickup trucks being used for contractors and service employees are still in full effect, but in the last 10 years, the truck game has transformed significantly into more of a utilization vehicle rather than just a work truck. In Grasso’s Garage, the 2025 GMC Canyon AT4 AEV 4WD arrives for a week-long test to prove its display of excellence. While consumers looking for off-road excellence, comfort and style, the priority is to not break the bank. With a $45K base price, GMC is on the right track. Powered by the popular 2.7L Turbomax 4-cylinder engine, the GMC Canyon has plenty of get up and go. Our tester came with the $10K, AT4 AEV Off-road edition package boasting wheel flares, skid plates and monster 17-inch bead lock wheels. Also, we recognized the $6K AT4X package providing locking differentials, red seat belts, bed liner, trailer package, moldings, and underbody cameras. This increase in off-road capability reduced its fuel mileage significantly, bringing it to 16.4 mpg’s on our test. Our Volcanic Red Tint coat was beautiful in the sun as the paint glimmer was eye-catching. Our tester also included the Technology package and AT4 Premium Package adding even more upgrades to the already stacked list of accoutrements on every consumers want list. Confirming our tester is jacked up and ready for anything put in its way, the GMC Canyon brings out the best in the small truck category as it delivers many uses for consumers in this category. Additionally, GMC has positioned themselves into a great spot with their truck market for consumers as their recent release is appealing to the eye and proves GMC is at the top of their game; and exponentially year over year. While pricing has become more realistic in most truck models, the GMC Canyon has a great base price but does gets pricey when upgraded and stacked with ever possible option. Lastly, which is an anomaly, the more you tow with the GMC brand, we notice an even more comfortable ride. As a GMC Sierra Elevation owner myself, I love towing with my GMC as the ride and comfort is just as good as my Volvo wagon. Grasso’s Garage is here for you!
