The district administration will provide house pattas to those residing on objection-free porampokes for more than five years. Persons, who have been excluded may apply for pattas, said District Collector C. Dinesh Kumar participating at the grama sabha meeting in Anjur panchayat in Bargur Union on Saturday. Grama sabha meetings were convened in all 333 panchayats of the district marking the Local Bodies Day on Saturday. The Collector discussed the upcoming Special Intensive Revision exercise of voters rolls from November 4 to December 4. The process entails Booth Level Officers visiting each house and handing over two enumeration forms. Of this, one form will be duly filled and handed over to the BLO while the second form will be signed and handed back to the voter. The BLO will visit the house once again to collect the form. The BLO will also enumerate voters, who have died, migrated permanently, or have dual registration and make out the list for elimination, according to the Collector. The grama sabha meeting discussed 15 points, including panchayat expenditure audit, dengue prevention measures, Clean India Mission, menstrual health and hygiene of students in panchayat schools and colleges, orientation on gender equity for women’s SHGs, Deendayal Upadhyaya rural skill training; and rural self-employment programmes.
