Govt Redeploys Prison Commissioner Wisikoti to Homeland Security

Information reaching this publication indicates that the Government of Malawi has redeployed Commissioner General of the Malawi Prison Service, Masauko Ng’ombeyagwada Wisikoti, to the Ministry of Homeland Security. Chief Secretary to the Government, Justin Saidi, confirmed the development to Zodiak this morning, stating that Wandika Phiri will return to lead the Malawi Prison Service as Commissioner General. This follows the government’s decision yesterday to transfer Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Chief Executive Officer, Kamkwamba Kumwenda, to the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) on secondment. The moves come as part of a broader reshuffle within government parastatals following the change of administration on 4 October 2025, when President Lazarus Mutharika was sworn in.
