VIZIANAGARAM: Gidugu Ramamurthy Telugu Bhasha Janapada Kalapeetham founder Badri Kurmarao on Sunday urged the government to protect folk arts and provide financial assistance to veteran artistes, to enable them to pass on their craft to future generations and secure their livelihood. The organisation felicitated artistes including Matsya Tavitinaidu (Chekka Bhajana), Neelaboni Satyam Barma Naidu (Tappetagullu), Kandi Saikumar (Kolatam), Turpu Bhagavatam artistes D.V.V.Jagannatha Pantulu Bontalakoti Sankara Rao Anjali Bhagavatar, Kochharla Lakshmi Bhagavatar for successfully conducting training programmes for Telugu people living in Malaysia, Myanmar, Bengaluru, New Delhi and other places. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kurmarao urged the government to come out with a policy for protecting the rich arts of North Andhra districts. Sanskrit College principal G. Janardhana Naidu, Kaumidi Parishad president Dhawala Sarveswara Rao, research scholar on folk arts P.
