Minister of Public Service, Government and Efficiency Im-plementation (MPSGEI) Zulfikar Ally told the Stabroek Business, Skills Connect is a technological application to boost small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) across the country by matching those entrepreneurs to potential consumers of their product. “This… connects citizens to services offered by individuals and businesses; whether it be plumbing, electrical, construction, gardeners… etcetera. The main aim of Skills Connect is to provide a platform for skilled and semiskilled blue collar workers to find jobs or advertise their services to the public,” Ally told the Stabroek Business. “This allows all blue collar-based services to be consolidated into one digital platform. It is in keeping with President Irfaan Ali’s commitment to fully integrate technology and digitization into the way we transact business,” he added. The app was launched on Tuesday by the government in partnership with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
