Thomas Frank has won over the players at Tottenham Hotspur amid strong start to the season
A lot of Tottenham fans questioned Daniel Levy’s decision to appoint Thomas Frank as the new manager following Ange Postecoglou’s sack. Many believed that moving from Brentford to Spurs was a big jump for the Danish tactician, doubting his ability to adjust to life at N17 and match the expectations set by the Spurs faithful.
But it is fair to suggest that the highly-rated manager has comfortably proven his critics wrong by enduring a brilliant start to life at N17. Under Frank, the North London club has already won four of its opening five games this season. During that time, they have also managed to score nine goals and conceded just once in the Premier League, putting them joint-top of the league table as of now.
Not only that, but the Lilywhites have also looked like a solid unit under the Danish tactician. It is clear to see that Thomas Frank has won over the dressing room and gotten all the players to believe in his vision for this season and beyond. The only thing left for the ex-Brentford boss to do is build on the Europa League success and win silverware this season.
Thomas Frank is enjoying an impressive start to life at Tottenham
As soon as he was appointed as the new Tottenham manager, Thomas Frank declared that he was aiming to compete hard on all four fronts this season. The Danish tactician’s outspoken nature and his ability to not shy away from seeing his flaws being pointed out made him an instant fan-favourite at N17. And now, Frank will hope that he can give the Spurs fans something to cheer about once the season is over next summer.
David Bentley has also credited Spurs for hiring Thomas Frank as their new manager in the summer. Speaking on the Inside Spurs podcast by talkSPORT, Bentley said,
“I think he’s started well. He’s had to come into an environment and really stamp his authority on the team. But looking at the players, I think he’s won over the dressing room after just hearing what the players have said about him. And seeing what they’re doing on the pitch is a great positive.”
The ex-Spurs player added,
“It shows what a great manager he is to be able to do that instantly. I think he’s come in and done well. He’s got my respects. I like how he handles himself. I think if he gets it right then he will be one of Tottenham’s most successful managers ever.”
David Bentley believes Thomas Frank has already taken command at Tottenham and won over the dressing room after hearing what the players have said about him. The ex-Spurs player adds that the Lilywhites look like a completely different team this season, all thanks to the Danish tactician. Bentley backs the Spurs manager to become a legend at N17 if he manages to get crucial decisions right this season.
Despite all the praise, fans will hope that Thomas Frank does not get ahead of himself and take each game as it comes. The ex-Brentford must aim to finish in the top-half of the Premier League table, as well as, go deep in the cup competitions this season. Anything less than that will be seen as a massive disappointment by the Spurs faithful.
