Good Morning Britain introduces 'new presenter' as Richard Arnold says 'he's after my job'

Good Morning Britain's Richard Arnold has introduced a new member of the ITV show team, revealing that Pride of Britain Award winner Ravi Adelekan had joined him as a co-presenter on last night's red carpet . The 10-year-old picked up a gong at the Pride of Britain Awards back in 2023 after raising awareness around brain tumours. Four years ago, he was diagnosed with a benign tumour on his brain stem and underwent 10 hours of surgery to remove it. Having competed on Britain's Got Talent last year, Ravi made his presenting debut alongside Richard Arnold on last night's Pride of Britain red carpet. Speaking about the show's new hire, Richard said: "I was joined by a very special guest. "Ten-year-old Ravi was diagnosed with a brain stem tumour in 2021 and despite surgery, continues to battle health problems but that didn't stop the wee fella. "He's managed to raise over £100,000 for research and was a former winner of the Child of Courage Award. So safe to say, my co-presenter on the red carpet was made of stern stuff. Exactly what's needed when you're chatting with the stars." He added: "As an inspiring presenter in turn, I thought we'd give Ravi a hand - I gave him the mic and what a sidekick he was." On the red carpet, Richard admitted that Ravi was doing such a good job, he could even end up with his job. Chatting to Craig Revel Horwood on the red carpet, Richard said: "You'll know Craig Revel Horwood - he loves a sparkle as much as he loves a dance." Craig said to Ravi: "And I'm very jealous of your outfit. You've outshone me today." As Ravi thanked him, Richard quipped: "Outshone you? I'm furious. He's after my job." Craig replied to a chuckling Richard: "Of course he is! He's probably better at it than you." Meanwhile, ex Corrie star Kym Marsh asked Richard: "Is he doing it better than you?" To which Richard said: "He really is doing very well, to the point where I'm feeling slightly deflated." Ravi then quizzed the actress on what she's looking forward to most at the Pride of Britain Awards. "We're all very, very excited to see who wins what and have a great night," she said. Richard also couldn't resist taking a cheeky pop at co-star Kate Garraway with the help of Ravi, telling him: "Can you ask Kate what happened with her hair?" A smiling Kate replied: "Well I'll tell you what happened with my hair. I tried to do something different and it's raining and it's all gone very, very crazy, hasn't it?" The Pride of Britain Awards took place last night in London, with the likes of Amy Dowden, GK Barry, Helen Skelton, Gethin Jones, Freddy Brazier and other stars taking to the red carpet. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
