The Golden State Warriors are just three games into the 2025-26 NBA season. So far, they have turned in a 2-1 record and have looked the part of a potential championship contender. Led by Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, the Warriors only have one goal. They want to contend for a championship. It would not be surprising to see the Warriors get aggressive leading up to the deadline. Head coach Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors reacts during the second quarter of the game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on October 21, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. Already, Golden State has been connected as a possible fit for what would be a near blockbuster trade. Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report has named Boston Celtics guard Derrick White as the ideal target for the Warriors. He would bring defense, ball-handling, and scoring to a team that could use more of all of those things. “At 31, Derrick White isn’t exactly young anymore,” Swartz wrote. “But he would look like a spring chicken alongside Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Al Horford on these Golden State Warriors.” Truthfully, White’s defense would be the biggest part of his fit with Golden State. He could defend against an opponents best wing player each and every night. That would add to a team who should have a dynamic offense. Last season with the Celtics, White played in 76 games. He averaged 16.4 points per game to go along with 4.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and 0.9 steals. In addition, he shot 44.2 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 38.4 percent of his three-point attempts. There is no telling whether or not Boston will even place White on the trade block. However, if the Celtics do make him available, the Warriors would be wise to look into the idea.
