On November 12, the Golden State Warriors will travel to Texas to take on the San Antonio Spurs. Both teams are searching for their ninth win, although the Warriors have taken a step back, losing two of their last three. Entering the season, age was a massive concern for the Warriors. They have already been without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green for at least a game. Going up against Victor Wembanyama, the Warriors will need all hands on deck, especially on defense. Curry missed the last three games with cold-like symptoms, although he doesn’t appear on the Warriors’ injury report. However, they might not be at full strength. Golden State Warriors Offer Injury Update Green has played in 10 of the Warriors’ 11 games so far this season. He is averaging 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. As a mobile, physical defender, the Warriors were to count on him to slow down Wembanyama. Apparently, the Dubs might not be able to count on him. “Steve Kerr said ‘there’s a chance’ that Draymond Green misses tomorrow night’s game in San Antonio because he’s ‘banged up,'” reported Anthony Slater during the Warriors’ game against the Thunder. “That’s why they are sitting Al Horford tonight in OKC. They want to separate the two and have at least one available each game.” While Horford is a solid rim-protector with savvy veteran skills, he isn’t exactly a Wembanyama-stopper. Then again, is anyone? Green might be one of only a few players in the league with a chance. Entering the season, Golden State knew that Horford would have to be used carefully. The same was expected of their core trio, although with Curry on the court, it’s impossible to count the Warriors out. Wembanyama to Seek Revenge on Curry In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Wembanyama gave Team USA a run for their money in the gold medal game. After three quarters, France trailed by only two possessions. However, in the final frame, Curry went off. The greatest shooter ever made four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, giving the Americans a 98-87 win. Since then, Wembanyama has played Curry only once. The Spurs won, and Wembanyama offered 25 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks. By his standards, it was a forgettable game, and he will be trying to stamp this contest, especially in front of a rabid San Antonio crowd.
