On Saturday September 20, businesswoman and oil merchant, Godrey Ogbechie sparkled like a diamond in the sky. On this day, the elegant better half of successful tycoon and Rainoil Group Chairman, Gabriel Ifeanyi Ogbechie turned 60! To celebrate her new age and the legacy she has built, a spectacular 60th birthday soiree was held on Sunday September 21 in Lagos, Nigeria. The event venue was filled to the brim with the business community coming in all of their finery to celebrate with her. Her husband’s powerful circle of friends was also on hand to felicitate her. It was an evening fit for royalty as Godrey glistened in spectacular style that left guests in awe. Her billionaire husband, Gabriel, spared no expense, transforming the event into a cinematic masterpiece that felt straight out of a Hollywood epic.
The atmosphere was electric as a mesmerising performance by the Afrobeats superstar, Flavour, serenaded the crowd and ushered Godrey into her new decade with infectious rhythms.
The celebration —to her hubby— wasn’t just for hitting the milestone but to appreciate her impact as a mother, wife and partner.
On Friday, the eve of her milestone, Godrey had teased her family and friends with a message on her social media platform: “Flying to the 6th floor on the wings of the Holy Ghost. I am favoured.” But the Rainoil family chose that same day to kickstart the celebration as they came together for a beautiful pre-celebration for their visionary and amiable boss.
Godrey isn’t just the wife of an oil magnate but equally a trailblazing leader and driving force in Nigeria’s dynamic energy industry. She works as the Group Executive Director of the family holdings business. Her expertise and invaluable contributions have propelled Rainoil to new heights of success.
Godrey, also in her own right, is a successful investor sitting on the board of Eterna Plc as a non-executive director as well as runs Norsworthy Farms And Agro Allied Industries Limited. The mother-of-three is also the founder and President of The Yvolve Initiative, a not-for-profit designed to help children evolve.
