We have the first shuffle near the top of the Globe’s Top 20 football poll following Xaverian’s close loss to Springfield Central.
Catholic Memorial (3-0) retains its No. 1 ranking, followed by St. John’s Prep (4-0), Xaverian (2-1), and King Philip (4-0), which held on for a 15-12 win over Foxborough, which moves up to No. 15 for the strong effort.
Mansfield is the biggest faller after losing, 22-18, at Marshfield minus a couple of key starters.
BC High is back in the top 10 after getting in the win column (against Everett) and Milton rises to No. 10 on the heels of a strong start. Winchester debuts after rolling past previous No. 19 Masconomet, 56-22.
