US-based digital engineering firm GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, will acquire German-based consulting firm synvert from private equity fund Maxburg. The financial details were not disclosed.“This acquisition aims to accelerate the deployment of HMAX, Hitachi’s solution suite advancing operational autonomy and business model innovation through agentic and physical AI, solving customer and societal challenges in the AI era’’, Hitachi said in a statement.The acquisition is expected to close in the fiscal year ending March 2026, subject to regulatory approval.Once the acquisition is completed, synvert will complement GlobalLogic’s capabilities in AI and digital engineering, while adding end-to-end strength across the enterprise data value chain and accelerating the development of agentic and physical AI, the statement added.GlobalLogic, which became a subsidiary of Japan-based Hitachi group in 2021 in an estimated deal worth $9.6 billion, has seen significant increase in its India business because of the growing number of global capability centres (GCCs).It has nearly 15,000 employees in India and aims to expand the headcount to 20,000 by the end of 2026.In November, GlobalLogic launched its fourth delivery centre in India at Hyderabad. It started the operations with 600 engineers, with plans to grow the headcount to over 2,000 in three years.“Integrating synvert into GlobalLogic will play a key role in accelerating our global strategy. It will strengthen our data and consulting capabilities and expand our presence in Europe and the Middle East across industries like energy, retail, financial services, and insurance’’, said Srini Shankar, president and CEO, GlobalLogic. “Once the acquisition is completed, we expect to rapidly deliver innovation through end-to-end development of data-driven AI services’’, he added.Synvert, operating in the data and AI space, brings over 550 specialists in data governance, data platform engineering, and advanced analytics, including expertise in data warehouse and lakehouse architectures.With a portfolio of over 200 clients, synvert helps enterprises unlock value and drive intelligent, data-powered transformation through AI-driven business design, data access and governance, integration, and operations.It has presence in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and the Middle East, and will help Hitachi expand markets for HMAX through collaboration with Hitachi Rail and Hitachi Energy.“Joining the Hitachi Group, which has strengths in OT (operational technology) and products, is an ideal step in synvert’s growth story.
