A Glasgow west end baked potato takeaway, which opened five months ago, has gone up for sale. Spuds, on Byres Road, opened its doors in May, offering punters a range of baked potato options. However, it is now on the market for £27,500. The premises has 12 covers in its current layout, and there is a kitchen space, wash up and food preparation area. There is also a staff toilet facility. The reason for the sale has not been confirmed. According to Scottish Business Agency, the premises would be suited to a specialty coffee business, cafe, or lunchtime offering due to the high volume of students and passing footfall in the area. The annual rent is £15,000. More information on the listing can be found online here. The west end spot followed on from the opening of similar concepts Spuddie's in the southside and Boston Spuds on Alexandra Parade. Coatbridge rapper Reece Muir, better known as Specksy, also spoke of his new spud van business Specksy's Spuds, which opened up earlier this autumn.
