As anticipation builds for Halloween this weekend, one of Glasgow’s most cherished shopping spots is gearing up for a spectacular night market. The Barras has confirmed the return of its much-loved Halloween event, promising a spine-tingling evening of eerie entertainment on Thursday, October 30. The legendary London Road market will once again undergo a dramatic transformation, featuring all the usual attractions alongside an extra dose of Halloween magic. Visitors can look forward to spooky decorations, plenty of themed photo opportunities, and an array of ghostly vendors adding to the atmosphere. This year’s festivities take inspiration from the comeback of film and television classic The Addams Family, with the theme reflected in the market’s ghoulish décor and set pieces. The market has promised that the evening will be one to remember for both locals and visitors eager to celebrate the spooky season in style. According to Glasgow Live , this year’s market takes place on Thursday, October 30, the night before Halloween, and will run from 5pm until 10pm. The organisers have planned an evening packed with entertainment, shopping, and food for all ages to enjoy. Just like last year’s event, which drew large crowds and was hailed a major success, entry remains completely free. The market is dog -friendly and family-friendly, meaning children and pets are welcome to join in the fun. It’s the perfect way for households to enjoy a festive night out without spending a fortune. Costumes are optional but highly recommended. Visitors can expect to see vendors and organisers fully embracing the theme with creative, spooky outfits. The organisers said: “Costumes are highly encouraged – channel your inner Addams!” With more than a century of history behind it, the Barras promises eerie performances, live entertainment that “will send shivers down your spine,” delicious street food, and a few surprises throughout the night.
