LENOX — The Blue Devils earned their season’s first point in a road draw with Lenox on Friday.
Lily Mirante and Megan McGrath got goals for Drury (0-3-1).
“After coming off a three game losing streak, it felt great to get our first tie of the season. Our girls played very hard against Lenox. We started off to a rocky first half, but after half time we played some of the best soccer we have played so far this season,” wrote coach Syid Uqdah. “I thought our girls moved the ball well today and our positions are starting to really click. We will take this positive energy into the next game and throughout the rest of the season.
“Overall, it was a great game from our girls and for the girls of Lenox. We are really starting to see improvement and we hope to start putting some games in the win column in the near future.”
Lenox’s goals came through Jane Elliot and Lauren Bridges with an assist by Reeva Patel. Jocelyn Coco-Gilardi made nine saves for the Millionairs (1-3-1)
“What makes this team so exciting is not just the skill on display, but the heart,” wrote Lenox coach Ollie Welch. “Against a physical opponent, this young and undersized group once again showed real grit and tenacity. Jane and Lauren gave us two big goals — with Lauren hitting a rocket from outside the box — and Jocelyn came up with some clutch saves to keep us in it. They’re proving every game that size doesn’t measure spirit.”
Lee 5, Mount Everett 1
SHEFFIELD — A pair of goals from senior Jenna Simone bracketed a big road win for the Wildcats on Friday.
Simone scored in the game’s opening minute, and then a second time with just five minutes to play in the match, settling the final score at 5-1. She also assisted on a Giana Carlino goal early in the second half that made the game 3-0.
The Eagles got a goal from Alexandra Lawton in the 54th minute, but could get no closer. Payton Simmons and Tamia Andrade scored the other Lee goals.
Emily Hall had two assists and Ella Simone and Faith Newton had one each.
Kamari Pridgen made 16 saves in net for the Eagles, while Maddy Kotek turned away five shots for Lee.
McCann Tech 2, Smith Vocational 2
NORTHAMPTON — The Hornets left Smith Vocational on Friday with a draw and will head into Tuesday’s home matchup with Hoosac Valley undefeated at 2-0-2.
Jordyn Lloyd was responsible for putting in both McCann Tech goals, taking assists from Shaylee Lawson and Faith Brazeau.
“Our seniors are playing excellent soccer right now,” wrote coach Lindsay Lincoln. “Our defense sets the tone, which opens opportunities for our offense. Shaylee and Jordyn remain unstoppable. So long as we maintain our intensity, we pose a tough challenge to any team.”
Natalie Tatro was tested often in net but stood strong with 14 saves.
Mount Greylock 5, Monument Mountain 0
GREAT BARRINGTON — The lights at Monument Mountain didn’t faze Mount Greylock on Saturday.
The Mounties improved to 4-0 with a runaway victory over their Grieve League rivals. The teams split the season series last fall, with the Spartans’ win being Greylock’s lone Berkshire County loss since 2021.
Nora Lopez helped the visitors atone for that one with a hat trick on Saturday. She scored the game’s opener, then made it 3-0 early in the second half, before finished out the night with her final marker in tandem with teammate Tanley Drake.
Drake assisted on both of Lopez’s second-half goals, while Lopez assisted on Drake’s goal as well. Greylock also got a goal and assist from Ariana Henderson and Rowan Apotsos, respectively, in the first half.
