Gilbert Burns wants to become a MMA manager post-retirement
Speaking to Buiten de Kooi, Burns revealed his goal of managing fighters after he retires from MMA.
Burns says some managers ‘work more’ for the UFC than they do for their clients.
“I want to become a manager,” said Burns.
“I think that’s one thing that I can do very good for the sport and for the upcoming fighters.
“I just believe it’s not a lot of guys doing a great job as a manager. They just, when the guy’s ready, they just make some phone calls, get their percent. More to the business.
“It’s kind of like the manager is working more for the UFC, for the companies, than for the fighters,” Burns suggested.
“I think I built myself as a, I was never a champion, but I’m well-known everywhere.
“I deliver great fights. People know [that] about me. I think it can help a lot of fighters to do the same, to be well-known, to have big companies around,” Burns added.
