Giants Trade Pitch Sends Super Bowl-Winning WR to New York After Malik Nabers’ Injury

New York Giants had one of the worst starts of the NFL 2025 season and it looks like their problem are not ending anytime soon. The team was sitting at 0-3, one of the worst starts since 2021, and the fifth time since 2013. But when it looked like the Giants had suddenly remembered how to win after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers, this Sunday, their star player was hit with an injury.
The Giants secured their first-ever win of the season against the Chargers, 21-18, at MetLife Stadium. It was a special moment for the Giants because they did it with rookie Jaxson Dart‘s debut as the starting quarterback. But this win came at a cost as the star wide receiver, Malik Naber, suffered a serious injury. There are speculations of a torn ACL injury, which can sideline him for the rest of the season. Following the injury, former QB Robert Griffin III came up with a suggestion for the Giants that could solve their offensive dilemma.
On 29th September, the former Washington Redskins superstar, QB Robert Griffin III, tweeted “The New York Giants should sign Odell Beckham Jr after Malik Nabers injury. Bring him home”

This trade pitch can bring Beckham Jr. home, as he is a former Big Blue. He was selected by the Giants as the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. He played for five seasons with the Giants from 2014 to 2019 and then was traded to the Cleveland Browns before the start of the 2019 season. Since then, he had been in four different teams, but his stint was never as long as with the Giants.

Odell is currently sitting as a free agent in the 2025 season after being released by his last team, the Miami Dolphins, in December 2024. The Super Bowl-winning WR has shown his love for the Giants on several occasions. Back in June 2025, Odell revealed, “I never, ever wanted to leave the New York Giants,” during an autograph signing event. Another similar sign Odell showed when a fan yelled “go back to the Giants” at Fantastic Fest NYC in June. Odell had a simple yet hopeful three-word reply to it “I got you”
Although Odell has been quite vocal about his interest in joining the Giants, there are doubts regarding whether the star WR still has that touch on the gridiron. The last time Odell had 1,000 yards receiving in a single season was back in 2019 with the Cleveland Browns. After that, Odell suffered multiple injuries, such as a torn ACL in 2020, a hip issue in 2021, and a knee injury in 2024. Even in his last season with the Dolphins, he recorded nine receptions for 55 yards across five games.
But amid all the doubt and questions regarding his former self, Odell looks all ready to take the challenge as he looks completely involved with the Giants through social media.

Odell looks completely involved with the Giants
Ever since Nabers went down with a knee injury, he has been showered with love and support from fans and teammates. Now, you can even add Odell to the list, who is clearly disheartened for the youngster. Today, he tweeted “My heart hurts for ya 1!!!!”. Odell must be aware of the sufferings Nabers is dealing with, as Odell himself had a fractured ankle back in 2017 with the Giants.
However, this is not the only social media post through which Odell has shown that he is fully committed to the Giants. After Nabers’ injury, many blamed the artificial turf at MetLife Stadium. As of now, there are 15 venues with artificial turf, and the remaining 15 have natural grass. Well, guess who joined in to request the removal of artificial turf? Odell.

On Sunday night, Odell tweeted ““Dear @NFL , I mean this with the upmost love and respect,” Beckham Jr. wrote on X. “We (The NFL) take all The precautions in the world with EVERYthing else when it comes to players ‘health’ and ‘safety’. PLZ. PLZ. PLZ. GET RID OF THE 🤬 TURF. Thank You in advance. LUV”
With Odell all dialed in with the Giants and the team looking for a good option, we can’t completely deny the chances of Odell returning to what he calls home. But with options like Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Jakobi Meyers, Ricky White, Chris Olave, and Diontae Johnson, no one can be sure about Odell making a comeback with the Giants.
