Giants QB Jaxson Dart Catches Surprising Shade From NFL Exec

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart took the NFL world by storm back in Week 4, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in his debut as a starter. Two weeks later, he led the Giants to a blowout win over the Philadelphia Eagles, and he also had them in position to pull off a massive road upset against the Denver Broncos in Week 7. Then, New York surrendered 33 fourth-quarter points against the Broncos, blowing leads of 19-0 and 26-8 in a devastating loss. The Giants followed that up by getting thrashed by the Eagles in Philadelphia this past Sunday. One NFL executive seems to think so, telling Mike Sando of The Athletic that he does not see Dart’s magic continuing. At least not for the rest of 2025. “I feel like now, teams are going to have a good feel for who this quarterback is, and that magic he had from going in there and being the spark is about to dissipate, because teams are going to make him play quarterback,” the exec said. PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – OCTOBER 26: Tyler Nubin #27 of the New York Giants puts his arm around Jaxson Dart #6 after an injury to Cam Skattebo #44 against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on October 26, 2025 in Philadelphia, United States. In fairness to Dart, he is incredibly short on weapons. First, Malik Nabers tore his ACL in Dart’s debut. Darius Slayton proceeded to injure his hamstring in Week 5, missing a couple of games before finally returning in Philly. Then, rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a gruesome ankle injury in the loss to the Eagles, knocking him out for the season. Dart will be forced to improvise a whole lot going forward, and given the difficulty of the Giants’ remaining schedule, it could certainly result in some tough weeks for the first-year signal-caller. He has also rushed for 195 yards and four scores. New York will return home next week where it will host the San Francisco 49ers. The next time the Giants face a team that currently has a losing record? Not until they play the Washington Commanders on Dec. 14, and the Commanders will have a chance to get back to .500 on Monday night when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
