Giants Player Reveals Disturbing Comments He Gets From Fans

The New York Giants’ season has been filled with highs and lows — from the christening of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, to the season-ending injury of promising rookie running back Cam Skattebo. The team’s record is a dismal 2-7 going into its Week 10 game against the 5-3 Chicago Bears on Sunday. And while football is just a game, some fans take it very seriously; too seriously, actually, as Giants kicker Graham Gano can attest. Gano recently revealed some of the absolutely unbelievable and disturbing things fans have told him just this season. “I hear everyone else’s frustration — media, fans. Shoot, ever since sports betting started happening, I get people telling me to kill myself every week,” Gano said, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “‘Cause I’ll hit a kick that loses them money. I’ll miss a kick and it loses them money. It was the other day that someone told me to get cancer and die. I mean, that stuff is part of it.” It’s pretty mind-blowing to hear some of the vile things Gano has been told, but he seems to just let it roll off his back. And I’m frustrated too. I just want to play ball. Just constantly not being able to is tough. Doing everything I can to try to come back and play. That is my hope.” “Unfortunately, that’s part of the game,” he added about receiving death wishes from fans. “I’ll get letters. I’ll get fans telling it to my face, game days, the DMs. I’ve gotten thick skin over the years, but nobody wants to hear that stuff.” Graham Gano was asked how he deals with death wishes from fans:"Unfortunately, that's part of the game. Gano has been dealing with injuries for his entire NFL career and played 15 of 26 games in 2024 and 2025. This season, he was sidelined for four games due to a groin injury. He’s been on the field again for the past two weeks but didn’t practice this week due to a herniated disc in his neck.
