He has been one of the bright spots for the Giants in 2025, picking up 410 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, along with 207 yards and two touchdowns receiving. Though Skattebo and fellow rookie Jaxson Dart have been exciting to watch, the rookie running back will now spend the next several months recovering from the ankle dislocation and surgery. Skattebo was drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Arizona. As a member of the college, he secured 2,492 yards and 30 touchdowns in two seasons. This includes a 2024 season with 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground. The hope for the Giants is that Skattebo can heal in time to be ready for the regular season in 2026. This is a brutal injury for a dynamic rookie who may have been nominated for Offensive Rookie of the Year. For more on the Giants, head to Newsweek Sports.
