Ghislaine Maxwell’s former New York City mansion has hit the market again – and it has a huge asking price. The property , located on East 65th Street in the Upper East Side of NYC, was purchased by Manhattan real estate mogul Frederick Rudd for $15million (£11million) back in 2016. At the time, Maxwell accepted the offer which was $4million (£3.7million) under asking price. Mr Rudd died at the age of 70 last year and the five-storey home is now back on the market for $17.75million (£13million). On the listing, the property is described as a “stunning 1910 Beaux-Arts-style limestone and brick townhouse … situated on one of Manhattan’s most coveted tree-lined streets.” As reported by the New York Post , the listing doesn’t mention that the property was previously owned by Maxwell, but says it has been “fully renovated”. It adds that the mansion has high ceilings, two fireplaces and white oak flooring which creates “a perfect setting for sophisticated entertaining”. The disgraced British socialite, 63, was given the home by a lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein back in 2000. Maxwell hosted private dinners, as well as cocktail parties and receptions at the home, hosting high-profile guests including the president and first lady of Iceland, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and actress Kelly Rutherford. News of the property being back on the market emerged as we shared exclusive images of Maxwell walking to a yoga class after being moved to a new jail where she is serving her sentence. The latest images of the child sex trafficker have infuriated her victims – who were already angry at her move to the soft jail dubbed Camp Cupcake just three years into her sentence. The decision broke US prison rules which state that a sex offender cannot serve their time in a minimum-security facility like Federal Prison Camp Bryan, Texas. Her transfer from a run-down prison in Tallahassee, Florida, came just seven days after she spoke favourably of Donald Trump’s notorious friendship with her ex, Epstein. One of those abused by the late billionaire has tonight hit out at Maxwell’s VIP treatment. “Ghislaine helped destroy so many lives, and now she gets rewarded with a transfer to a country club prison,” she said. “It’s a slap in the face to survivors. We’ve been left with scars that never heal, while she gets to do yoga and tend gardens while serving her time. How much time that is now depends on her buddy Trump.” Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping Epstein sexually abuse underage girls back in 2022. The stiff sentence was a victory for a group of women who spent years fighting for justice after an earlier generation of prosecutors failed to pursue the predatory power couple. Epstein, who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial, sexually abused children hundreds of times over more than a decade, exploiting vulnerable girls as young as 14. Prosecutors said he couldn’t have done so without the help of Maxwell, his longtime companion. The sentence was shorter than the term sought by prosecutors, but Epstein’s accusers still expressed relief at the time. “It’s been an incredibly long road to justice for myself and for many other survivors,” said Epstein victim Sarah Ransome. “This is for the girls that didn’t have their say, the ones that weren’t here.”
