With Christmas looking set to be quite different in Glasgow this year, supporters of the city's traditional winter markets can still look forward to getting their festive fix. Due to construction work on George's Square, a new market will be set up at Glasgow Green, complementing the traditional offering at St Enoch Square. The Daily Record has already covered some of the best Christmas markets across Scotland , including the two expected to light up our biggest city this winter. But if there’s interest in broadening horizons before the big day and snapping up some bargains, several markets across Glasgow and beyond are worth a visit, reports Glasgow Live . From treasure troves for savvy shoppers to a spectacular castle setting, there's no shortage of festive markets to get excited about. Glasgow's SEC will welcome a three-day Christmas shopping spectacular this month, as the National Trust transforms the venue for an unmissable event. Browse unique gifts, mouth-watering food and drink, and brilliant workshops at the SEC from November 28-30 2025. Event organisers commented: "Come along to see over 100 businesses from a wide range of specialties this November. Deck The Halls is the perfect place to get all your gifts under one roof!". Bargain hunters on the lookout for pre-loved treasures and nearly new items perfect for Christmas gifting might discover exactly what they need at a popular market making its Glasgow comeback this December. The Too Good To Throw Market is making a return to Bellahouston Sports Centre on Saturday, December 13, with a bumper festive edition. The massive indoor Jingle Bell-a-houston Christmas Market provides the ideal opportunity for visitors to discover everything from retro fashion to bespoke handcrafted items. Running on November 22 and 23 at the Glasgow Trade Halls on Glassford Street, the Christmas fair makes its return. Now settled in its fresh Merchant City location, this year's market is billed as a "fantastic showcase of Scottish creativity and design". The fair boasts approximately 70 of Scotland's top artists, designers, and makers displaying and selling their handcrafted creations. Tickets are £3 or £2 concession (valid for both days). The hugely popular Tea Green Events is preparing to stage markets at The Burrell Collection and Kelvingrove Art Gallery this November and December with roughly 80 designers featured at both venues. The complimentary entry markets will arrive first at the southside and Pollok Country Park on Saturday, November 8 from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, November 9 between 11am and 5pm. They will subsequently move to the west end and the renowned museum and art gallery on Saturday, December 6 between 10am and 5pm and Sunday, December 7 from 11am to 5pm. A magical Christmas event is coming to Drumlanrig Castle on the Queensberry Estate in Dumfries and Galloway, around an hour's drive from Glasgow. Throughout December, this magnificent estate will be turned into a festive wonderland, offering a range of seasonal events and activities for visitors of all ages. One of the highlights of Drumlanrig Castle's Christmas programme is undoubtedly its festive market. Taking place on December 6 and 7, the market will be held with the spectacular castle as its backdrop. Guests can enjoy a dedicated Christmas shopping experience, with numerous stalls and local businesses on offer.
