Georgia Football Receives Devastating News on DL Jordan Hall

The Georgia Bulldogs have one massive Achilles’ heel on defense, and it’s getting a strong enough pass rush to take down the opposing quarterback. The University of Georgia football team has just eight sacks on the season, which is good for the 132nd best in the nation, and their sack leader is linebacker CJ Allen. Despite the atrocious sack numbers across their first eight games, the Bulldogs are still 7-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Alabama back in September. On Thursday, Georgia received a devastating update on one of its offensive linemen, Jordan “Big Baby” Hall, who suffered a knee sprain in the Georgia-Florida game. The injury happened in the first quarter of the Bulldogs’ 24-20 win over Florida, and Hall had to be helped off the field. Georgia’s Jordan Hall to Miss Remainder of Season with Knee Injury Pete Nakos of ON3 Sports broke the news via X (formerly Twitter) that defensive lineman Jordan Hall would miss the remainder of the 2025 season with a knee injury: “Georgia starting defensive lineman Jordan Hall is done for the season, a source tells @On3sports. CBS first. A notable blow for the Bulldogs. Hall is a starter and former 5-star recruit.” Losing Jordan Hall is a big blow for this Georgia defense as it prepares for the final month of the college football season, with hopes of being in the College Football Playoff. On Monday, when head coach Kirby Smart spoke with the media following the win over Florida, he explained that the Jordan Hall injury was serious, but he was unsure how long it would keep him out. Well, coach Smart will have to rely on a new pass rusher to fill the void of Hall. Georgia’ Defensive Line will be Tested Immediately Georgia’s defensive line will be tested right away with the season-ending injury to Jordan Hall. Georgia heads on the road this Saturday to take on their counterpart, the Mississippi State Bulldogs. After that, Georgia comes back to Athens to host the Texas Longhorns in what should be a top-ranked matchup. With Hall being out of the rotation, the Dawgs will be leaning on Elijah Griffin, Nnamdi Ogboko, and Nassir Johnson to anchor down the defensive line. Aside from this brutal injury news, Georgia has remained fairly healthy on the defensive side of the ball this season. The team has had to deal with two big injuries at the wide receiver position in Colbie Young and Talyn Taylor. And a few injuries have popped up from offensive linemen that luckily haven’t been too serious. Georgia already entered this season having one of the youngest defenses in college football, and losing a veteran presence like Jordan Hall doesn’t help that cause, but the Bulldogs have embraced the “next man up” mentality for years now, and that mindset must remain the same when trying to replace Hall.
