Libya’s General Information Authority (GIA)announced yesterday the availability of the full document of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in the State of Libya 2025-2030 through its official website and digital platforms. The GIA said this comes as part of its commitment to the principle of transparency and the involvement of the academic and professional community in the formulation of Libya’s digital future. Why is this strategy important? The GIA said this strategy represents the highest reference strategy of the Libyan state, and it is a clear roadmap that charts the path of transformation towards a knowledge economy, through: - Focus on training and developing young Libyan competencies in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence. - Developing the necessary frameworks and legislation to ensure the safe and ethical use of AI technologies. - Implementing AI solutions in strategic sectors such as health, education, and energy, to raise the efficiency of public services. - Supporting research and development in universities and research centres to create local solutions to national challenges. The GIA has meanwhile invited all specialists, researchers, university students, and those interested in digital affairs to review the document, discuss its topics, and provide their constructive opinions, to ensure that this strategy reflects the aspirations of the Libyan people towards a more prosperous and efficient future.
