GBBO's Alison Hammond branded unrecognisable as she shows off 11st weight loss

Fans of Brummie TV star Alison Hammond are all saying the same thing as the star shows off her dramatic transformation. The Great British Bake Off and This Morning host is beloved thanks to her entertaining interviews with celebrities , bold personality and unapologetically being herself. But recently fans have said she looks “unrecognisable” as she shows off her new look following a dramatic weight loss. She was applauded last week for her look at the National Television Awards and fans have been left wowed after her makeup artist shared a snap of her looking fabulous. “She’s sunshine in human form,” Makeup By Mikey said after sharing a snap of Alison boasting straight hair, hoop earrings, a denim jacket, bold skirt, jazzy orange nails, and a glowing complexion and fabulous makeup look. Alison looked happy as she boasted a big grin while posting in Welford Park, Berkshire. People rushed to comment on the post, sharing on Wednesday [September 17]. TV star Vicky Pattinson commented and said: “She’s too fit.” “Bloomin gorgeous – truly beautiful on the inside and out,” added another. “You look sensational,” said a third. “You are looking unreal,” wrote one other. Another wrote: “Such an inspirational weight loss journey. Hard work pays off and you look incredible.” One other said: “Wow did not even recognise you Alison you look fantastic.” Someone else wrote: “I thought it was Alexandra Burke at first glance! You could be sisters.” “Wow,” commented another. “Looking younger,” observed one other. Another issued a complimentary message, writing: “Love her so much she always brings a smile to my face . She also looks so happy and healthy and stunning lately.” “Oh she is radiant,” added one other. The 50-year-old presenter said the sad loss of her mother – who had type-2 diabetes – was the catalyst for her to make a change. Speaking to Good Housekeeping Alison confessed: “My mum had type-2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out that I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening. “I thought, I have to be an adult about this. The sweets had to stop – and the fatty foods.” Now Alison, who weighed 28st at her heaviest, has a personal trainer and she has fitness sessions twice a week. She also enjoys yoga, walking, doing plenty of stretching and has some weights in her bedroom. She said her key to keeping interested in exercise is mixing up the activities that she does. Plus, Alison’s diet improvements means she is no longer pre-diabetic and she has lost 11st. However she admits that while she now eats healthy meals like chicken and spinach or beef mince with cauliflower rice, she still allows for occasional treats. Alison further told Good Housekeeping: “Because my body’s working properly, I can allow myself a bit of sugar here and there. I love my new shape. It’s great being able to wear things I would never have been able to before. I mean, look at me, I’m a bombshell.” Off screen, Alison found love with 27-year-old masseur David Putman, fostering rumours that her weight loss may be influenced by matrimonial aspirations.
