Ninvalle eyes youth development As the Terrence Pool Memorial National Intermediate Boxing Championship wrapped over the weekend, the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) praised the event as a well-run tournament that showcased the country’s growing talent pool. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, GBA President and Director of Sports Steve Ninvalle highlighted the association’s commitment to youth development. “Our focus is on building and developing our youth. Every month we host two competitions, and this championship is the culmination of that effort,” he said. Ninvalle also noted the recent revival of the historic Happy Eagles Gym, once home to boxers like Kevin Allicock and Dennis Thomas, as a key step in nurturing young talent.
