As you are likely aware, the Trump administration has been posting some pretty appalling content on their official social media accounts.
There was that truly bonkers AI video Donald Trump posted back in February of Gaza being transformed into a “Trump Gaza” resort town, complete with bearded belly dancers, Elon Musk showering children with money, and Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sipping cocktails by a resort pool.
Then, there was a post on the official White House account using the viral “Jet2 holiday” internet jingle alongside clips of people being deported.
And most recently, the official Department of Homeland Security account posted a Pokémon-themed clip of more people being deported set to the “Gotta Catch’ Em All” theme song.

Well, they say not to fight fire with fire, but as you probably know, California Governor Gavin Newsom is not abiding. In his latest tweet from his official press office account, he poked fun at JD Vance with a new couch meme.
“POOR JD! HIS SWEET BELOVED COUCH NOW COSTS MORE WITH THE TARIFFS!” the post read, alongside a seemingly AI-generated video of JD Vance teaching couch history — in this case, the history of the Chesterfield couch.

“Hello and welcome to my show, A History of Couches,” the clip began. “I’m your host, JD Vance and we’ve got a special episode for you today.”
“Some artifacts shape nations; others shape desires. Few shape both. The Chesterfield couch is one of them,” it continued.
Then, a seemingly AI Vance launched into the history of the Chesterfield couch. “Commissioned by Lord Philip Stanhope, the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, this sofa was designed for posture, elegance, and control.”
He discussed its features. “Deep buttoned tufting, rolled arms, a back and sides of equal height. A design that did not merely support the body, but contained it.”
And it’s rise in popularity. “Once reserved for aristocrats, the Chesterfield spread into libraries, parlors, and now living rooms worldwide. But its allure has never diminished.”
Then, he addressed the rumors. “There are rumors that I once had an encounter with a Chesterfield. People exaggerate, twist the truth. But when you sit on one, you understand where such stories come from.”
“The Chesterfield isn’t just furniture; it’s an experience. And some of us know that a little too well,” the clip ended.
Naturally, the video quickly went viral on X, and people had a whole lot to say.
“dude this is insane lmfao,” a viral tweet said.
