The head of the Gauteng Health Department is expected to take the fight against his suspension to the Labour Court in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning. Lesiba Malotana was suspended last month after a Special Investigating Unit lifestyle audit flagged him as high risk due to discrepancies in his finances. In court papers, Malotana argues that his suspension by Premier Panyaza Lesufi was unlawful and wants it to be set aside. He also wants his electronic devices to be returned. Malotana, who is allegedly involved in allegations of tender fraud, says he wants to return to work and resume his duties.
