Gauri Khan’s Mumbai-based restaurant Torii has been making waves and not just for its sleek interiors. The menu at the celebrity hotspot reflects luxury dining at its finest, with prices that match its upscale vibe. A look at Torii’s offerings reveals that the restaurant serves Cristal Mushi-Gyoza and Thai Chicken Mushi-Gyoza for Rs 600, Truffle Edamame Mushi-Gyoza for Rs 650, and an elaborate Tori Veg Gyoza Selection featuring eight pieces at Rs 1000. The salads, on the other hand, range from Rs 500 for the Ice Berg Salad to Rs 1100 for the Sashimi Salad, a premium mix of salmon, tuna and hamachi. Under the Snacks and Tempura section, diners can indulge in Enoki Mushroom Tempura for Rs 600 or Lotus Root with Singapore chilli for Rs 750. For seafood lovers, the Norwegian Salmon is priced at Rs 1700, while Shrimp Kushiyaki costs Rs 650. Torii’s Controversy And Co-Founder’s Response While Torii has earned attention for its fine-dining menu, it recently faced controversy after a content creator accused the restaurant of serving “fake” paneer. The restaurant’s co-founder, Abhayraj Kohli, addressed the allegations in an interview with Pop Diaries, saying that maintaining consistency in a high-end restaurant can be challenging despite strict hygiene standards. Chef Stefan Gadit also responded to the controversy, revealing that the incident unexpectedly boosted business. “It increased our business and I got more than 20-30 followers on Instagram, so that was a blessing in disguise,” he shared. He added that after a discussion, the creator understood and deleted the post. “We believe people are smart enough to understand what was going on,” he said. Before entering hospitality, Gauri Khan had already built a strong reputation as an interior designer. Through Gauri Khan Designs, she has styled celebrity homes and luxury spaces, including restaurants like Arth and Sanchos.
