The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, is all set to close the registration window for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2026 on October 9. The deadline to submit form (without late fee) was October 6 and the deadline to apply (with late fee) is October 9. Eligible candidates who have not gotten themselves registered should apply online on the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Application Fee: The application fee for Female/SC/ST/PwD* candidates is Rs 1000, and the fee for all other candidates (including foreign nationals) is Rs 2000. The fee should be paid in online mode. However now, the February 8 exam has been postponed. This comes in line with an intention to avoid potential clashes between GATE and Union Public Services Commission, UPSC ESE Exam. The official notice reads, “GATE 2026 committee is aware of potential schedule clash between GATE 2026 and UPSC ESE 2026 on February 8, 2026 (as per the Annual Calendar released by UPSC). Hence, while scheduling the GATE 2026 Test Papers, it will be ensured that the GATE papers (CE, EC, EE, GE, GG, IN, ME, PI) are not scheduled on February 8, 2026.” GATE 2026 results will be announced on March 19.
