The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has opened the application correction window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. “Application rectification window is open now. Please check the details at https://gate2026.iitg.ac.in/application-fees.html,” reads the official notification. Candidates who want to amend or edit the information they have submitted in their form can do so by visiting the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in by November 3. Candidates would have to pay a fee of Rs 500 to make modifications to their application form. If a candidate must switch from female to any other gender, or from SC, ST to any other category, the fee has been set at Rs 1500. GATE 2026 is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15 next year, with results set to be announced on March 19. GATE 2026 Application Form: What Can You Edit? Students can make the following changes in the correction form: — Date of birth — Exam City Applicants are not allowed to modify the details of parents, guardian, correspondence address; college name and location, roll number and details of qualifying degree. GATE 2026 Application Form: How To Edit? Step 1: Go to the official website of GATE. Step 2: From the home page, select the GATE 2026 link. Step 3: After logging in, your application form will be shown on the screen. Step 4: Make any necessary modifications to the application form and pay the administrative fees. Step 5: Once finished, click the submit button. Step 6: Save the confirmation document and keep a printed copy for future reference. Candidates can now appear for two papers, provided they choose from the approved combinations. A new section called Energy Science (XE-I) has been added to the Engineering Sciences (XE) category. It will include a compulsory Engineering Mathematics section worth 15 marks, along with two optional sections chosen by the candidates, each worth 35 marks. Additionally, the exam fees have been increased.
