In a statement, Wexford Gardaí said that an investigation is being carried out into the alleged assault on the teenager, who is aged in his late teens. It is also believed that a supporter received a broken nose during the incident. The statement continued: “Gardaí attended the scene following a report of an incident of alleged assault that occurred at a sports ground in Wexford on Sunday, 2nd November, 2025. “A male youth (aged in his late teens) was conveyed to Wexford General Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time. Investigations are ongoing.” Advertisement Wexford GAA are also conducting their own investigation into the unsavoury incident at the end of the game, which involved players and supporters from both sides. Wexford GAA Management Committee met on Monday night and agreed that the incident was ‘highly regrettable’ and warranted a full investigation. County chairman John Kenny confirmed that a formal investigation is underway by the County Disciplinary Committee and CLG Loch Garman in full cooperation with Gardaí and other authorities involved. In a statement, Kenny said the GAA had a thorough discussion regarding the events themselves and the courses of action that are available to CLG Loch Garman. Kenny said he has already spoken to a number of people in relation to the incident and it was unanimously agreed that a formal investigation would commence immediately.
