The reported attack occurred near Annesley Bridge shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, 22 October. Advertisement The man attacked, aged in his 50s, was brought to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital. He remains there in a serious contain. A technical examination pf the scene was conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit. Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information to contact them.
