Samsung is starting to open up the One UI 8 beta to Galaxy Watch 5 users, all the while the Galaxy Watch 6 is getting its second beta update as the full release looms close. Last year’s update debacle with One UI 7 put tension on users as all were left without timely updates for devices ranging from Galaxy Watches to flagship Galaxy S devices released prior to 2025. Samsung is slowly making up for that, but device updates still aren’t incredibly abundant. The Galaxy Watch 5 has officially been added to the list of eligible One UI 8 beta participants (via SamMobile). The update looks to be rolling out to users in South Korea and the US, with more regions likely to come soon. One UI 8 for the Galaxy Watch introduces a UI overhaul, particularly in the areas of tiles and widgets. The beta also adds a few health features, which is always welcome. The update to Samsung’s newest beta began rolling out in September 2025. After two months, it looks like Samsung is ready to bring some changes as users continue to test the company’s OS. There’s no word on when Samsung will roll out the stable version to the Galaxy Watch 6, and certainly no information on when that could happen for the Galaxy Watch 5. Given the timing, it could be another couple of months before One UI 8 is pushed in full to Galaxy Watch 5 users. The One UI 8 beta can be obtained via the Samsung Members app. More on Samsung:
