Gabbriette hosts chic Día de Muertos celebration as London’s fashion crowd step out for a week of parties

London’s party circuit was in full swing on Thursday as model and musician Gabbriette kicked off a three-day celebration of Mexican culture at Toklas Bakery, transformed into Panadería Don Julio for the occasion. The star, who has Mexican heritage and is engaged to The 1975’s Matty Healy, played host alongside the tequila brand for a night inspired by the Día de Muertos tradition — with Panadería Rosetta, Mexico City’s cult bakery, making its UK debut. London’s creative crowd turned out in force for the launch, with Missy Albarn, Simone Murphy, Maxim Magnus and Cou Cou Chloe among the names spotted sipping Gabbriette Palomas and Don Julio 1942 cocktails mixed by the team from Handshake Speakeasy — recently crowned World’s Best Bar. The pan de muerto was served fresh from Rosetta’s ovens, courtesy of its founder Elena Reygadas, named World’s Best Female Chef 2023. Meanwhile music came from nightlife favourites Taylah Elaine, Princess Julia and Dean Bryce. Across town, Henry Holland was among the stylish guests at Drake’s Savile Row, where luxury collective True Entertainment hosted an intimate evening celebrating British craftsmanship. Lady Sabrina Percy and Bridgerton’s Genevieve Chenneour joined the designer for a night of live music from Alan Power and The Take Twos, paired with Woodford Reserve Old Fashioneds, Louis Roederer Champagne, and Petrossian caviar canapés. Meanwhile, earlier in the week, Kilian Paris kept London’s social scene buzzing with a takeover of The Vault at The Ned to unveil its new fragrance, Angel’s Share on the Rocks — rounding off a week where the city’s nightlife crowd had little reason to stay home.
