Pizza Hut has confirmed the locations of 68 restaurants shutting for good after the company responsible for its UK venues fell into administration. In addition to this, 11 delivery sites will also be shut down as part of a restructuring plan that could leave 1,210 employees facing redundancy. DC London Pie, the firm operating Pizza Hut's UK dine-in restaurants under a franchise agreement, appointed administrators from corporate finance firm FTI on Monday. Yum! Brands, the American hospitality giant that owns the global Pizza Hut business, has now purchased the UK restaurant operation in a pre-pack administration deal, thereby saving 64 sites. However, the 68 restaurants shutting for good have been revealed, after a spokesman stated on Monday: “Today we announce the acquisition of the Pizza Hut dine-in operations through a pre-packaged administration, after FTI was announced today as administrators of DC London Pie Limited, a franchisee of Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants. “We are pleased to secure the continuation of 64 sites to safeguard our guest experience and protect the associated jobs. Approximately 2,259 team members will transfer to the new Yum! equity business, including above-restaurant leaders and support teams. Directional Capital assumed control of Pizza Hut's UK restaurants in January 2025 after the previous operator Heart with Smart Limited went under with nearly £40 million in debt.
