Full list of 30 Bodycare stores closing this week starting today

A leading British beauty retailer will begin shutting down 30 outlets from today (September 16).

This follows Bodycare entering administration earlier this month, placing more than 100 shops in jeopardy. However, 30 branches are already set to close due to the administration process, with 450 positions also being cut.

Bodycare has confirmed that the fresh round of closures will occur on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Administrators explained the necessity for the shutdowns, stating it wasn’t economically feasible to maintain all 115 Bodycare outlets across the UK and that there was insufficient stock.

Nick Holloway, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, commented on Monday: “We’d like to express our sincere thanks to the hundreds of dedicated Bodycare staff who have shown such professionalism since our appointment. We will continue to trade the remaining 85 stores while we remain in discussions with interested parties with the aim of preserving as much of the business as possible.”

Bodycare was initially established in 1970 on a Lancashire market stall by Graham and Margaret Blackledge. Nevertheless, it has been under the ownership of Baaj Capital since 2021.

It was previously disclosed that Bodycare obtained up to £7m in debt facility against its retail stock. Such debt arrangements are formal agreements whereby a lender supplies funds to a borrower over a specified timeframe.
