'Fuck My Son!' Sets Theatrical Run, NSFW Trailer

X-rated festival favorite “Fuck My Son” is now headed to a theater near you.
The team behind the film, which debuted as part of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness slate, has announced a first batch of screenings, set to begin in mid-October.
Todd Rohal’s feature-length adaptation of Johnny Ryan’s comic book was met with laughter, groans and even a few walkouts at its TIFF debut on Sept. 10.
“Rather than turning the film over to a traditional distributor, ‘Fuck My Son!‘ will be released through a filmmaker-led collective—a new model that combines the independence of DIY cinema with the reach of industry expertise,” the collective announced in a statement. “The release is being managed by a partnership of the filmmakers, an experienced theatrical booker, and a former studio executive. This cooperative structure allows the filmmakers to retain full ownership of their movie while drawing on the resources, strategy, and connections usually reserved for studio-backed releases. The goal is simple: to prove that bold, independent films can thrive in theaters without surrendering their rights or creative vision.”
The collective consists of Todd Rohal (writer, director, producer, editor, post-supervisor, VFX artist, accountant and mixing assistant, “Fuck My Son!”), Tommy Lucente (media & entertainment exec, ex-Vice/Fox/Disney), James Belfer (producer/distributor, Cartuna), Gavin Briscoe (booker/distributor, Cartuna), and Michael Tully (publicist, writer/director of “Septien,” “Ping-Pong Summer,” “Don’t Leave Home”).
