Since the beginning of the Gaza war – and especially after Israel violated the ceasefire agreement last March – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been maneuvering between two opposing forces. On one side lies his determination to cling to power and prevent his far-right partners from abandoning the coalition; on the other stands the international community, pressing to end the war, secure the hostages’ release through a deal, and expand humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
