Kaleb Cooper is temporarily hanging up his boots in Chipping Norton to take on an entirely new challenge — down under.
The breakout star of Clarkson’s Farm is heading to Australia for his first-ever solo Prime Video series, Kaleb: Down Under (working title), which will see the farming contractor swap the rolling fields of Oxfordshire for thousands of acres across the Australian outback.
The four-part series will follow Kaleb as Jeremy Clarkson’s right-hand man steps firmly out of his shadow and into one of the world’s largest agricultural markets.
With ambitions to expand his own contracting business, he will be totally immersing himself in local farming culture, meeting Australian counterparts, and discovering how they cope with the country’s extreme conditions.
“I spend most of my time with the most travelled man in the world, so I got brave and booked my first ever flight to see what all the fuss was about. Australia, here I come!” Kaleb said. “You’ll be gaining a new farmer for a couple of months as I discover if I can make my business go international.”
While it might sound like an extended working holiday, the 26-year-old promises it won’t be all sunshine and sightseeing. Expect blisters, burns and backaches as he tackles the “gritty realities” of Australian farm life, far removed from the comforts of home.
The series, commissioned by Prime Video, will film this autumn and marks a major step in Kaleb’s rise from local contractor to bona fide TV favourite.
His unfiltered humour and down-to-earth approach have made him a fan-favourite on Clarkson’s Farm, where he often finds himself clashing – affectionately – with his famously city-bred boss.
“Kaleb Cooper has won our hearts with his no-nonsense farming wisdom and unmistakable charm,” said Tara Erer, Head of Northern Europe Originals at Amazon MGM Studios. “Seeing him swap his beloved Chipping Norton for the vast Australian outback promises brilliant entertainment as he encounters farming on a whole new scale.”
Kaleb will return to Clarkson’s Farm for its fifth season next year, but in the meantime, fans can catch up on series 1–4 on Prime Video.
