Spooky season is undoubtedly the favourite time of year for celebs. Every October, our Instagram timelines are littered with Halloween costumes — some raunchy, some impossibly scary — but always a 10/10 on the effort scale. While Heidi Klum is indisputably the ‘weeny Queen (erm, the worm, everyone!), Katy Perry has also pulled off some iconic looks over the years. And, considering she’s the centre of attention right now thanks to going public with her new beau — who is none other than former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — all eyes are on the Dark Horse singer this month to step out in something more legendary than ever. So, as inspiration for this weekend’s festivities, let’s take a look at some of Katy’s most epic Halloween outfits over the years. Plus, some of pop culture’s other impeccable celebrity fits. (Picture: Reuters/Getty Images) Katy Perry as a Cheeto — 2014 Katy is no stranger to dressing up as food items (remember when she rocked up at the 2019 Met Gala after-party dressed as a giant bejewelled burger?). Five years earlier, she turned up to Kate Hudson’s annual Halloween party dressed as a human Cheeto — a look that Katherine Ryan would later take inspiration from in 2023 when she dressed up as a giant wotsit. In 2024, Katherine took her snack-themed costumes to new heights when she transformed into a massive Monster Munch, but that’s a different celeb and different story for another day. (Picture: Chinchilla/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images) Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton — 2016 Two years later, at Kate Hudson’s annual bash, Katy and her then partner, Orlando Bloom, took satire to the next level. Katy — who vigorously campaigned for the Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, in 2016 — donned prosthetics, a blonde wig, and a red suit to transform into the political figure. Meanwhile, Orlando went as Hillary’s opponent, Donald Trump. (Picture: GC Images) Heidi Klum as a worm — 2022 All hail Heidi Klum, the queen of Halloween. Over the years, she’s showcased some creative looks, from ET to Princess Fiona, but none broke the internet like 2022’s costume. The model took to her Halloween party carpet as a human-sized worm and even went full method acting by writhing around on the floor. The fact that she fake-tanned underneath the costume was even more iconic. (Picture: Getty Images) Amelia Dimoldenberg as Roz from Monsters, Inc. — 2024 Just when we thought we couldn’t love Amelia Dimoldenberg — or her Halloween costumes — any more, she goes and dresses up like the cranky Roz from Monsters, Inc. There are no words. Some of our other fave looks from the Chicken Shop Date star include Mr Bean and Britney Spears in her ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’ music video. (Picture: X/Amelia Dimoldenberg) Lizzo as Grogu from The Mandalorian — 2021 Back in 2021, Lizzo dressed up as Grogu from The Mandalorian to walk around Hollywood and then perform at a Spotify Halloween party. She was covered head-to-toe in green paint, wore large prosthetic ears, and a long beige trench coat. She shared snaps on her Instagram with the caption: ‘GROGU TAKES HOLLYWOOD’ (Picture: Getty Images) Emily Ratajkowski as Marge Simpson — 2015 We are obsessed with Emily Ratajkowski’s Marge Simpson look for Heidi Klum’s 16th annual Halloween party. The model fully committed to the look in yellow body paint and a tall blue wig, synonymous with the Simpson family matriarch. (Picture: Andrew Toth/WireImage) Kim Petras as Mother Krampus — 2022 You just know that some of the best looks are going to come from Heidi’s Halloween parties. Kim Petra’s ‘Mother Krampus’ was based on the myth of Frau Perchta, a witch that comes on the 12 days of Christmas, taking children each night. (Picture: Getty Images) Winnie Harlow as RuPaul — 2018 25 years after RuPaul’s iconic MAC Viva Glam campaign, model Winnie Harlow recreated the 1994 look. Winne wore the same red leather outfit, big blonde hair, and boots for the campaign, which benefits HIV/AIDS charities. (Picture: Taylor Hill/FilmMagic) Cynthia Erivo as Neytiri from Avatar — 2016 From Elphaba Thropp aka the Wicked Witch of the West, to Neytiri from Avatar, Cynthia Erivo understood Heidi Klum’s Halloween assignment. Which is to get as creative as possible when choosing your costume. 10/10. No notes. (Picture: Presley Ann/Patrick McMullan via Getty Images) Sabrina Carpenter as Lizzie McGuire — 2024 Millennial girlies everywhere screamed, cried and threw up last Halloween, when Sabrina Carpenter dressed up in the iconic igloo dress from ‘The Lizzie McGuire Movie’ makeover scene. Honestly, it’s every fan’s dream weeny costume. (Picture: Sabrina Carpenter/Instagram) Kendall and Kylie Jenner as Lizzie McGuire — 2024 There was deffo a theme last year, because Kendall and Kylie Jenner also donned looks from the 2003 Lizzie McGuire movie. This time, they recreated the ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ singing scene, with Kendall dressed as Lizzie and Kylie as Isabella. OBSESSED. Paris Hilton as Britney Spears in the Toxic music video — 2023 While attending the Casamigos Halloween party in Los Angeles, Paris Hilton honoured her longtime friend Britney by replicating the flight attendant look she wore in the 2003 music video for her hit ‘Toxic.’ (Picture: Shutterstock) Lupita Nyong’o as Dionne from Clueless — 2018 You know someone is committed to a look when the tiniest details are recreated. Just LOOK at that old school mobile. Lupita’s effort as Dionne from the 1995 rom-com classic Clueless was literally perfect. (Picture: Taylor Hill/FilmMagic) Harry Styles as Elton John — 2018 Attending the same party as Paris Hilton a few years earlier, Harry Styles dressed up as another iconic musician: Elton John. He chose the memorable sparkling Dodgers uniform Elton wore at his 1975 Dodger Stadium performance. Is it us, or does this look really suit Harry? (Picture: Getty Images) Janelle Monáe as E.T — 2024 When Janelle Monáe appeared on the Jennifer Hudson Show as E.T last year, literally no one could believe it. Unless someone actually told you, you’d have no idea it was Janelle beneath these ‘lifelike’ prosthetics. Props to the costume department. (Picture: Getty Images) Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber as Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol — 2023 Honestly, it’s Austin’s wig for us. We’re obsessed with former couple Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber’s Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick look for Halloween 2023. For those who don’t know, Edie was an American actress, model and socialite, best known for being one of Andy Warhol’s superstars. Sadly, she passed away aged 28 in 1971. (Picture: Getty Images) Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly as Kill Bill characters Gogo Yubari and Bride — 2023 As the same party as Austin and Kaia in the same year, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly took on the iconic roles of Gogo Yubari and Bride from Kill Bill. Again, each detail was meticulously copied, down to Yubari’s ball-and-chain weapon, which Megan used as a bag. (Picture: Getty Images) Rebel Wilson as Barbie — 2022 The year before Margot Robbie took on the iconic role of Barbie, Rebel Wilson stepped up to the challenge for Halloween. While it doesn’t look the comfiest of outfits, we wholeheartedly appreciate the commitment to the part. (Picture: Getty Images) Chrishell Stause as Maleficent — 2020 During Villains Night on Dancing With the Stars, Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause swapped the heels and skirt suits of The Oppenheim Group office for a Disney villain aesthetic, transforming into Maleficent. (Picture: ABC via Getty Images) Rita Ora as Post Malone — 2018 At the 2018 KISS Haunted House Party, Rita Ora decided to see what life was like as another famous musician: Post Malone. From the recognisable tattoos to his slouchy wardrobe style, Rita nailed the likeness. (Picture: Getty Images) Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum as Rosemary and her baby — 2023 Back when Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum were a couple, they dressed up as Rosemary Woodhouse and her baby from the 1968 film, Rosemary’s Baby. The whole look, with Channing as an adult baby complete with a bonnet, was pure comedy gold. (Picture: ALEXJR/BACKGRID)
