Owner of Chunker’s Bakery, Elizabeth Pereira, joined Kidd and Megan on Monday to share more about her rising sourdough business.
Chunker’s was founded in 2022 from a successful sourdough starter kit.
“My husband brought home a 50-pound bag of flour and said what am I supposed to do with this?” Elizabeth said. “From there the business kicked off”.
The name “Chunker’s” was a family nickname given to Elizabeth by her older brother. Elizabeth said she couldn’t think of a better way to honor his memory.
Sourdough items have numerous health benefits. Elizabeth said that because of the fermentation process that the dough goes through it is easier to digest.
Chunker’s offers a wide variety of sourdough and non-sourdough baked goods.
