Sacramento entrepreneurs, here’s your chance to brush up on your marketing prowess with a free workshop that promises practical skills and an inspiring success story. The local community organization Sactown Makers is opening its doors to business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs for a Marketing 101 Workshop on September 26. Set in the cozy confines of Bloom Workspaces located in Midtown, the event will serve as a platform for learning and networking, aimed at empowering Sacramento’s small businesses.

During this session, participants are to receive hands-on training on relevant marketing strategies being used in the industry today. Among the key highlights will be a talk by Celia Surridge, the founder and CEO of Capital Valley Marketing, who will share insights from her entrepreneurial journey, and cluster within the creative economy of Sacramento. “We designed this event to make marketing approachable and actionable for small business owners while also highlighting the personal journey of an entrepreneur making an impact in Sacramento’s creative economy,” Christina Granados, Sactown Makers’ program manager, told the Sacramento City Express.

The Marketing 101 Workshop forms a component of the Tomorrow’s Innovators Accelerator (TIA), an initiative that nurtures eight diverse entrepreneurs during a 14-week stint, honing skills across technology, design, and engineering. They gain exposure to 3D printing, product development, and business strategy, ensuring a well-rounded approach to entrepreneurship.

Support for the TIA program, and by extension, the workshop emanates from the City of Sacramento’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development, drawing from the Innovation Growth Fund.
