Free health screenings: HealthFest 2025 coming to Staten Island this week

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Borough President Vito Fossella will host HealthFest 2025 at SIUH Community Park on Friday. The free community event, produced in collaboration with CleanCutHealth, will feature screenings, resources, activities, and appearances by former NFL players.
HealthFest is an extension of the Staten Island Community to Clinic Linkage Implementation Program (CLIP), launched in 2021 to combat the high rates of blood pressure and heart disease disproportionately affecting Black men. This joint initiative between the Borough President’s Office, NYU Langone, the American Heart Association, and Community Health Action of Staten Island, has screened more than 4,000 residents at 22 participating barbershops.
This community event expands the mission, offering free screenings, CPR and Narcan training, mental health and behavioral support, along with workshops on sports and wellness.
Attendees can enjoy a live DJ, local vendors, healthy food tastings, games, raffles and giveaways, while meeting former NFL players Roman Oben, Eric Olsen, Kyle Richardson, and Jay Alford.
Fossella encourages residents to proactively manage their health. “This year, through our collaboration with CleanCut Health, we are taking that mission to the next level by connecting trusted community partners with the latest tools and resources to close gaps in care.” Fossella said. “We welcome any and all Staten Islanders, if you can, to come down to the ballpark, receive a free screening, and join us for an engaging and informative day.”
HealthFest 2025 is free and open to the public to connect more with preventive care. The event will be held from 2 to 7 p.m.
