Francisco Lindor’s Wife Takes Strong Stance on Concerning US Trend After Mets Anthem Performance

“Music has been such an intricate part of my education and upbringing since I was little. I just can’t imagine my life without it.” Francisco Lindor’s wife, Katia, shared last year. The connection was written all over her performance at the Mets’ Hispanic Heritage Night. Before the Mets’ 8-3 win against the San Diego Padres, Katia Lindor played the national anthem on the violin. Naturally, her husband, holding their son, Koa, and standing with daughters Kalina and Amapola, cheered the loudest.
While Francisco couldn’t have been prouder of her wife, the anthem meant a lot more than just a performance to Katia. It was a representation.
A representation of her beliefs in what the anthem should stand for, especially as of late.
“Stepping on that field made me feel like I was performing for more than just myself. It was for my community. It was a chance to really represent and honor my community with pride,” Katia reflected, as performing on that night meant celebrating her community through her art. She continued, “The national anthem has always been a powerful symbol. It’s meant to stir pride, but lately, for me, it’s more like a call to hope. Hope that my children will grow up in a country that has less hatred, less violence, and less injustice. If there’s one belief I hold firmly, it’s that loving this country doesn’t mean staying silent.” Mrs. Lindor shared her views on patriotism.
“Holding America accountable to the values it was founded on. And as a Latina, every note I played last night carried my community in my heart and reinforced the message that we belong,” Katia Lindor stayed humble while firmly standing with her stance.
With safety concerns and growing negativities all around the country, Katia hopes her children can grow up in a world full of hope. But her stance didn’t reflect the nervousness-filled pride that she felt while performing ‘O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.’ “Yes, absolutely. And not just because practicing the violin with three little kids is nearly impossible, but also, I knew I wanted to say ‘yes’, especially on a night that celebrated Hispanic Heritage.”
In fact, Francisco admitted back in 2024, it’s not easy for Katia to keep practicing violin after having kids.
She had minored in music at St. Mary’s University in Texas and was then established as a classically trained violinist. Speaking of Tuesday night, beyond Katia’s performance, there was more that made the game special for the Lindor Family.
Big night for Francisco Lindor and Family
On the same night of Katia’s performance, during the pregame ceremony, Mets’ star shortstop was honored as New York’s nominee for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award. Then, Lindor’s daughter, Kalina, had her moment, too.
She made the “play ball” announcement to kick off the game, having everyone in the stands smiling.
Truly a lucky charm for his dad, as soon as the game began, Lindor slammed a 350-foot home run towards the deep right center against Michael King. As special as the night got, Lindor also wore the no. 21 jersey to honor Roberto Clemente. He also carried a customized glove specially made to pay gratitude to the late legend.
Katia and Francisco also made a special announcement.
They’re now set to commence the Lindor Foundation for their ongoing philanthropic efforts. Regardless of whether Lindor secures the award this year, he mainly looks forward to expanding his charitable work. The main idea behind the Lindor Foundation is to provide as many scholarships as possible to help deserving students pursue college.
With Katia leading the Foundation, the Lindors will also be able to help those wanting to pursue fine arts. Apparently, Lindor’s mindset behind this initiative is to provide people with stuff that he never received. He admitted that he didn’t attend college, and hence, he doesn’t want anyone to go through the same.
Evidently, the Lindor fam stands with their values for America and beyond…
